grown up sleepovers

it had been too long since my last sleepover. luckily I got to have a girls night with one of my favorite people ever. ever ever. it had been snowing all day, so fittingly the first adventure of our night was getting my car stuck. believe it or not this kind of stuff happens to us often, so it wasn't surprising. Keri got out to start pushing the car (somehow we were convinced it would work). a very kind man saw this, probably laughed, and got out to help. people like this that make the world go 'round. he ended up driving my car successfully out of the mess we made. phewf.

we went to a local shop in search for matching rings. go ahead and make fun- it's cool. we like it. with the influence of each other, we ended up buying a couple more items. duh- that's what friends are for. still kind of dreaming about the woven stools and blankets. we went to a war movie (girls night out?) and ate some donuts (2014 diet?). spent some quality time with Tiny, the cutest bulldog in town. or in the world. she sat on my head in the morning, making sure I would get to work on time. talk about alarm clock. I like Tiny and Keri. us three had a good time and I'm already looking forward to the next. makin' memories one slumber party at a time.

date night with the Mr. our favorite Italian restaurant is conveniently right by our house. this place has to die for gnocchi. although we were too full for dessert- I still had to take a picture. the gelato and other goodies looked too yummy not to at least capture. thank you Gloria for brining a little bit of Italy to us. we then went to the dollar theater. we saw About Time- this movie made it up to my top 3 favorite movies of all time. love love love. I adore Rachel McAdams. best movie I've seen in a while- (in other words, go see it). good weekend. I like dating my husband. ps- the next day, we went paintballing with friends. my first time. unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to prove it- just battle wounds. welts for days.

ciao.

'twas the night before work. the end of our break. twenty thirteen was over and Danny and I felt a sense of nervousness and sadness that all our fun was ending. however- that was kind of silly of us. it's a new year FULL of adventure and happiness. we decided to have our last hoorah of the year and our welcoming of twenty fourteen. plus when it's New Years day and everyone was hitting the gym and eating celery and spinach, we thought it was only fitting to binge on our absolute favorite dessert in the world. a gooey chocolate chip cookie with melty ice cream on top can ease any sense of anxiety; try it, I dare you. this local dessert cafe is so cute and they have perfected this "cazookie."

if there is anything I have learned in this year, it is to enjoy life. love the people close to you. tell them that you love them. treat them like you love them. I hope this year is full of family walks, Sunday naps, fresh fruit, early morning yoga, new recipes, bike rides slash date nights with my favorite human, CAZOOKIES, and lots of laughs with friends. two new nephews will be born. cant. wait. and our two missionaries will be returning home. also. cant. wait. looking like a beautiful year. this post was meant to be about our mini celebration and the delicious tin of calories we devoured, but somehow it turned sentimental. oops.. see ya!

food. friends. and photobombs.

this eve of the New Year was one to remember. our friends got together for dinner at Station 22. not the best but not the worst grilled cheese and soup I've ever had. D claims the chicken/waffles are the best. we drove up the canyon to one of the crews go to spots- the Owl Bar. such a quaint venue up at Sundance Resort with live music and a fire place. it was a solid mixed crowd ranging from mountain men, drunken ladies, hipsters, grandpas, us, and celebrities. Skylar Astin and Anna Camp from Pitch Perfect were there. my brother in law gave a toast around the fire with them- they loved it. check out the last three pictures on this post- notice the photobomber in each one. classic. it's not everyday that a celebrity photo bombs your picture.

as this year ended i enjoyed looking back at what has been accomplished and what obstacles have been overcome. i am so thankful for those loved ones in my life who have always supported me in the things i do. a lot can happen in a year and its cool to be able to set new goals and start with a clean slate. i can feel it, this year has loads to offer.
cheers to 2014!
